"I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the

salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile."

My Story

My story

From the darkest thoughts of depression to the faith tests that come with being a three times cancer survivor, my story has been an adventure to say the least. God has always been my shelter and it is my honor to speak and lead others to refuge from the storms of life. I am now privileged to be among those the Holy Spirit calls to evangelism.

Chris' story is a triumph of faith over adversity, which she willingly shares to help others.

Chris was born in England. After emigrating from England and continuing her career in the medical profession, Chris subsequently became a College Professor and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts before her call to ministry. Chris is an Ordained Minister of the Assemblies of God. In addition to her evangelical and speaking activities, she serves as a volunteer chaplain at a large general hospital. She is a three times cancer survivor and has endured the physical and emotional stresses associated with multiple surgeries and treatments. She is uniquely equipped to minister to the sick by training, calling and experience both as a medical professional and as a former patient.

The primary purpose of this ministry is to help people find spiritual peace by sharing the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Chris is well grounded and qualified to help others reach inner peace through faith in Jesus Christ. She is clearly on fire for Christ and has a heart for ministry. She has a great sense of humour and is a truly fabulous speaker and a delight to meet.

Her personal journey to Christ is itself an inspiration as she is a three times cancer survivor and has endured multiple painful and sometimes disfiguring surgeries to emerge as a saved Christian on fire for God with a real intentional drive to help others find Jesus and sort out their lives

Chris is devoted to sharing the gospel with people who are hurting and lost.

Married to Roger (43 years and counting) they have three sons and six wonderful grandchildren.

We encourage you to contact us to explore how ChrisBassettMinistries can help your particular situation.

Chris says, "There is still much shame and sense of failure  attached to one who is  depressed. True clinical depression is more than just feeling down or sad.

Depression is the thief of joy! Being a Christian does not make one immune. The truth is, in some ways it makes you a target".

Most of us have had our lives touched by cancer, If not yourself, then someone you are close to. Chris has experienced serious cancers in three different sites, unrelated to each other. Chris is passionate about sharing her experience of God's constant, unlimited source of  strength and comfort that brings tangible peace in the midst of fear!

"“Before I knew Jesus, I faced the challenges of life by myself and failed. Now that I have a relationship with Him, I know I will never be alone." - Chris Bassett

Ladies

Ladies!

I want to encourage you as women !

Daughters, Sisters, Wives, Mothers, and Grandmas.

See how many hats we wear? It's no wonder that we are exhausted at the end of the day with little, if any, time for ourselves!

Here are some helpful tips I've learned while running this marathon we call life as Godly women.

1) Do you put yourself on your to do list?

I'm willing to bet you dont! If you do, I can almost guarantee that you are the last item; the one that never quite gets done!

2) Did you know that God cares?

He loves each and every one of us and it is not part of His plan for us to neglect ourselves. He always has you on His 'to do' list!

3) Doesn't that seem selfish?

No! If you are not OK, your family wont be OK. You cannot do a good job of looking after them if you dont look after yourself.

4) I'm not worth it?

Yes you are! God cares about every single one of us. He knows whats in our heart, our joys, our fears, our worries, etc..

5) I can't do it by myself!

Of course you can't ! God knows that. He sent his son Jesus to be our savior. His death on the cross and resurrection was a sacrifice for our sins. All we have to do is repent of anything we have done that leaves God out of our life; that's what sin is (not just big stuff).

6) So how does that help me?

By accepting God's free gift of salvation through Jesus, you have an infinite source of strength and grace for whatever life throws at you. Jesus can handle things better than you and by knowing Him personally, you will never go through anything alone again.

7) So how can I get this?

It's available right now. All you have to do is ask for Jesus' forgiveness and repent (truly repent, not just feel sorry) for your sins and ask Him to come into your life as your savior.

8) How do I pray?

Like this:

"Jesus, I understand now why you had to die on the cross. I realize that I have sinned and now I want to repent and start over, with you in control. I want to have a personal relationship with you. I'm asking you to take charge of my life from now on. I'm praying this to you Jesus." Amen

So now what do I do?

If you don't have a church, now's the time to find one. Make sure that the church you choose is a Bible believing church and that you feel comfortable and welcomed there. It may take a few visits to different churches to find the right fit. (click here to find great churches in your area)

If you are a churchgoer, I encourage you to get involved in Women's Ministry Events, Bible study, or a New Believer's class .

May God Bless You!
